The IA Mapping: Compass for French Innovation

The Mapping of French IA Startups, published annually by France Digitale with the support of Sopra Steria Ventures, lists the most innovative players in the sector in France. Among over 1,100 applications, APREX Solutions is featured in the 2026 edition—a recognition that maps the IA ecosystem and highlights technologies ready to transform industry. Being included validates technological maturity and the ability to address concrete use cases, while helping position France as a European leader in applied IA.

Already Present in Previous Editions: Confirmation of Trajectory

APREX Solutions was already selected in previous IA Mapping editions. This recurring presence demonstrates the durability of our innovation and our ability to evolve our solutions over the years, better addressing concrete industrial challenges.

France Digitale and Sopra Steria: A Winning Partnership

France Digitale, which brings together the startup and investor ecosystem to accelerate innovation, and Sopra Steria Ventures, which supports young companies with strong business and industrial stakes, lend unique legitimacy to this mapping.

Industrial Vision + IA: Our Pragmatic Recipe

APREX Solutions thus joins the 2026 edition at the heart of our positioning in industrial vision and artificial intelligence, serving the concrete needs of factories. In industry, IA is not an end in itself. The challenge is not to "do IA" to follow a trend, but to provide operational answers to production requirements: detect more defects, stabilize processes, secure deliveries, and gain competitiveness.

IA at the Service of the Field, Not the Other Way Around

Combined with industrial vision, IA becomes a lever to push the limits of inspection: greater precision, consistency over time, adaptation to product and environment variability, while integrating into sometimes complex production lines. At APREX, we design IA as a tool at the service of field experts, not as a magic wand.

Humans Behind the Algorithms

Behind every algorithm are women and men—engineers, automation specialists, process experts—who define the right datasets, train models, validate them, and adapt them to field realities. It is this alliance of industrial vision, IA, and human expertise that enables our solutions to be deployed and replicated among major industry names, across diverse sectors like metallurgy, textiles, wire drawing, packaging, agri-food, energy, and plastics.

Controls of the Future: Reliable, Robust, Concrete

By pragmatically combining industrial vision and IA, we pursue a simple goal: make inspections more reliable, robust, and performant to support industry in its transformation—far from hype and close to real production needs.

Profitable Startup, Mature Technology Since 2017

Though listed as a startup and having raised two funding rounds, we have always prioritized profitability. Since our launch in 2017, our computer vision technology has been mature, constantly evolving with state-of-the-art algorithms. On the ground, it relies on deep industry expertise: mastery of photonics, integration of vision devices at line edges, and consideration of site-specific industrial environments.

Key IA Trends from France Digitale's 2026 Mapping

Growth and Maturity
The Mapping reveals growing maturity in the French ecosystem, with 1,114 startups listed as European leaders.

The ecosystem has grown by 15% compared to 2025, with 27% of startups at "scale-up" maturity and 42.3% having 11 to 50 employees. Funding rounds totaled over €2 billion in 2025, signaling financial consolidation.

Dominant Application Domains
Only 6.1% of startups target the manufacturing industry, and 6.5% focus on production, robotics, and automation—a still under-exploited but strategic niche. Health (25%) and finance (18%) capture the majority of use cases.

Key Dynamics
Three axes emerge: increased sectoral specialization, hybridization of models (generative IA + controlled reasoning), and focus on sovereign IA for European compliance. Industry remains a concrete innovation lever for process optimization.
