APREX Solutions is celebrating its 4th anniversary!
It has already been four years since Mikaël Désécures and Romain Baude—both research engineers in the highly demanding and specialized field of thermonuclear fusion—decided to put their know-how and expertise in video and image analysis to work for the industrial sector.
« Quite simply, these are powerful algorithms originally developed to study and track particles in a nuclear reactor and monitor their dynamics within the plasma. After 10 years of R&D, the two developers sought to adapt these algorithms to create, on the one hand, machine vision applications for Industry 4.0 and, on the other hand, image analysis tools for research centers.
Here’s a look back at this 2018 France 3 report, which tells the story of how APREX came to be.
A larger team, expanded facilities, and a software suite now known as AX Vision and AX R&D… But still the same algorithms, constantly refined (with an artificial intelligence module and a 3D vision module) and specifically tailored to address current challenges in quality control and industrial production monitoring, while pushing the boundaries of image analysis even further.
Today, major industrial groups such as Siemens, Prysmian Group, Herta, Solocap, and Saint-Gobain have placed their trust in APREX Solutions for a wide range of applications, including defect detection (color, dimensions, shape, appearance, etc.), part compliance checks, vision systems for robot guidance, and reporting on production line events…
A pretty successful venture, wouldn’t you say?
