Textile Industry and Quality Control: 
The APREX Solutions / Petit Bateau partnership wins the "Cas d'Or du digital" award

On March 24, 2022, the "Cas d'Or du digital" awards ceremony took place in Troyes.
This event, held as part of the Grand Est Transformation program launched by the Grand Est region and dedicated to digital technology (GET numérique), recognizes successful collaborations between manufacturers seeking to transform their operations and providers offering innovative solutions.

APREX Solutions and Petit Bateau were honored to receive the Cas d’OR Grand Est award in the Quality Control category for implementing an image-based quality control system for production.

Regional synergy as a driver of innovation

The origins of the project

As part of its business support policy, the Grand Est Region aims to foster innovation and create synergies among local stakeholders: on the one hand, manufacturers with growth potential, and on the other, local solution providers in the fields of digital technology, new technologies, and artificial intelligence (AI).

Grand E-Nov was responsible for implementing this project and relied on partners such as IBM, which conducts studies and AI diagnostics.

Their joint mission:
- Identify and propose a selection of startups that possess both the necessary technical maturity and the operational potential to drive industry-specific artificial intelligence projects.
- Match industrial companies’ projects with the technical solutions to be deployed
- Connect industrial companies with solution providers

Following an assessment conducted by IBM, APREX Solutions—which was part of the second cohort of companies accelerated by Scal’E-nov—was approached by the Region to participate in the project to automate quality control at Petit Bateau.

Philippe Pichery, President of the Aube Department (Departmental Council), presented the Cas d'OR for Quality Control to Jean-Marc Guillemet of Marie Grüss Petit Bateau and Romain Baude of APREX Solutions at the Cas d'OR Grand Est 2022 #casdorgrandest2022. The winners are implementing a camera-based acquisition system that continuously captures material quality.
